When this happens, you should consider testing a soil. If Epsom had a positive effect on a problem that will affect your entire garden.
ReplyDeleteEpsom salt is hydrated) magnesium sulphate (MgSO4. Its use as a soil amendment by magnesium used by plants to produce chlorophyll. When the earth is in the available magnesium (Mg) is low, other problems may also be present.
Add lime and dolomite, calcium and magnesium, and sweetening the soil when the pH is low. (CaO (calcium oxide) 57.0%, magnesium oxide (MgO), 38.0%) after the analysis of the soil is the recommended treatment because it is less soluble than the Epsom salts in the soil Longer stay.
For potassium (K) leads to a lack of magnesium, some plants, even with a lot of magnesium in the soil. Potassium (K) interferes with root uptake of Mg, the addition of nitrogen (N) or K soil in the autumn will help in this kind of Mg deficiency.
At extreme pH, nutrients are partially or completely closed and can not be used by plants during theiryet exist. For example, closed at pH 5 or less, calcium, magnesium and phosphorus for plants.
Extreme Magnesium deficiency is also recognized by light green leaves yellow between the veins (chlorosis) on the first leaves, and later in younger leaves.
and rotting flowers and fruits.
Optimal Mg pumpkin plants with a pH of 6.5 to 100 ppm
Pumpkin has a slightly acid soil tolerance to pH 5.8-6.8 with 6.5 optimal.
Pumpkin has high requirements for phosphorus and potassium. Gaps, even during the first 2-3 weeks will affect the overall performance.

* I can not understand how you can get good results from Epsom salt, because I use salt to kill weeds, weeds and Poison Ivy.
ReplyDeleteThe salt and when it rains, washed in soil8l and kills everything.
Some minerals such as calcium, potassium and magnesium are required in large quantities. They are known as macronutrients. Other macronutrients are oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen and sulfur, these elements form organic compounds. (According to the site)
ReplyDeleteThe support of Epsom salt is a good source of potassium, but a good balance of nutrients is recommended to offer some soil samples to the State Department or Agriculture Unversity this service will tell you that you can suggest improvements to their performance and quality.
I mix a little with all that likely once a year, and my pumpkins and watermelons to grow on the outside, but I'll make sure not to use ofte source which can have a negative effect and burn plants.
